Wonder Read Aloud
Above is a precept from a book project. Last year, I read Wonder to my class. I used this to really focus on bullying. There were also a lot of resources to use for teaching along with your curriculum on teachers pay teachers. I absolutely loved the quote every month, precept. My students and I used this to discuss deep topics. When we finally got to the literature circle, they had so many things to say. http://vimeo.com/90497130 Here is a link to one of my student's book projects. I gave them a choice menu. He chose to make a trailer.

YAY... New crate seats for my classroom!
These were so easy to make! I recommend it to every teacher. Very fun and easy :)
How I did it: The bins were about $4 from Target. I also saw some at Big Lots in very pretty colors, but I liked the circle designs on the Target ones better. I bought the burlap with chevron print at Walmart. I love love love chevron print. So, I was so excited to find that. I bought 2 yards which was more then I needed.($6.00) I asked my husband to cut some plywood for me in the size of the crate. He had that at work, but from what I understand. It is not that expensive. When you cut them be sure they slide in the crate just enough to where the wood rests on top. I bought some doll stuffing from Walmart for about $3.00. I cut the fabric in the size I needed. Then, I wrapped the wood with fabric and used a staple gun to staple it on. I left one side open so I could stuff the fluff in there to make it comfy. Then, I finished stapling and wallah! New classroom seats. (oh and I just weaved a ribbon through to bring in the rest of my classroom colors)
GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!
